BEWARE...According to Victorinox....NO WARRANTY

After purchasing a watch that was more than $100 for the first time in my history of buying watches (about 25 years), and doing a ton of research into which brands would be best in my price point, I find out that I made a big mistake.
The first mistake, according to Victorinox, was buying it hereon Amazon because Amazon is not an "Authorized Victorinox timepiece seller" which means that your timepiece that you just dropped 1k on, is NOT WARRANTED under the normal 3 year warranty provided by Victorinox.
The second mistake, buying a Victorinox product, because it did indeed fail (about 1.5 yrs in). The date function stopped advancing because of some design flaw that causes the gear to become damaged if you change the date manually during certain times of the 24 hour day....this is what the over priced authorized Victorinox repair shop said after charging me $200 for the repair.
Victorinox did agree to reconsider my warranty but after calling the repair shop and having somebody mis communicate a statement I made, Victorinox said NO to covering the repair.
Bad bad bad all the way around.

Nice looking, but timing is off!

So, I've owned this watch almost one year. I've sent it back to Swiss Army for repairs 3 times! It's a mechanical self winding watch, but the timing was off when i received it, and is still off after being sent to them 3 times. So that's 4 strikes on the watch timing, and it's still not right. Last time I contacted them, I never heard back. Going to call tomorrow. I'm hoping it's just a fluke and a faulty watch because I really love Swiss Army products and bought this watch specifically because of the reputation. The previous time I mentioned a refund, they said just send it back and we'll get it right, but that didn't happen. It's either too fast by 5 minutes, or too slow. I've told them each time what's wrong with it, but I don't think they are spending the right amount of time checking and tweaking it to be sure.

Amazon.com again had best price with free excellent shipping. This is a beautiful watch that can also be used for scuba diving and is both elegant and rugged and my wife likes it very much. I have owned two prior Swiss Army watches, the last one being a stainless steel Divemaster 500, just bought a new black ice Divemaster 500 and had it delivered with this one. If this Swiss Army Ambassador Woman's watch performs as well as the other watches, I will be most pleased.
